Uncoupling braked trailers
Braked trailers (751 kg to 3500 kg) feature a breakaway cable that initiates an automatic braking process if the trailer becomes uncoupled.

Completely pull up the handle.
2. Disconnect the plug
Disconnect the plug from the towing vehicle to remove the electrical connection.
3. Detach the breakaway cable
Detach the breakaway cable from the trailer coupling and attach to the drawbar.
4. Wind down the jockey wheel
Completely wind down the jockey wheel.
5. Release the ball coupling
Release the ball coupling from the ball head of the towing vehicle by cranking the jockey wheel up to the appropriate height.
6. Remove towing vehicle
You can now drive your towing vehicle away, attaching wheel chocks if necessary.
Please observe country-specific regulations. The video refers to the legal situation in Germany. In Switzerland and the Netherlands, different fastening rules apply to the breakaway cable. Detailed regulations can be found in your manual.
