Customise your individual MODO
The modular system offers the right equipment for every application.
All modules can be expanded and combined with each other as preferred.
The MODO can be transformed into a comfortable sleep and work area in no time at all. The modular system based on airline rails allows a variety of options for the spatial and external design of the MODO.
Accessories Interior fittings
All modules are the same size and, with dimensions of 750 x 475 x 425 mm, have the familiar shape of a removals box. This allows you to realise different living space concepts and configurations in the trailer. The available modules include, for example, storage boxes and cupboards in a variety of designs, a kitchen module with a sink, a folding bed and a cot as well as useful accessories such as cup holders and fabric wall cupboards.
- Practical storage elements turn your MODO into a spatial marvel.
- The expertly designed kitchen elements ensure convenient cooking on the go.
- Various sleeping and seating elements provide relaxation in the MODO.
Accessories Trailer equipment
Both the interior and also the trailer can be extended as required. For example, with an aerodynamic slope for minimum wind resistance and thus maximum energy and fuel savings, a spare wheel holder, a roof hatch with a roller blind and lots more.
Frequently asked questions about the MODO
The MODO is the result of a cooperation between two experts. The box trailer, which forms the foundation of the MODO, is from Humbaur. Leisure vehicle manufacturer LMC Caravan GmbH & Co. KG brings its expertise in furniture construction and provides the modular interior fittings.
In contrast to a caravan, the MODO can be thought of as a blank canvas waiting to be designed. Whether as a camping and leisure trailer, transport and leisure trailer for trade businesses, a workshop or accommodation for travelling salespeople and tradespeople away on a job: the MODO’s flexible furniture system allows many options for spatial and external design, tailored to individual preferences. In addition, the MODO has an enormous payload of approximately 1,300 kg over a total length of 4 metres and so offers not only a living space but also a transport option.
Another special feature is the tailgate with door. The flap, which can be swivelled upwards, serves as rain and weather protection. It also enables easy loading.
The MODO is suitable for:
- Camping enthusiasts who want to build their own trailer.
- Motorsport enthusiasts who want to transport their vehicle and spend the night at the race track.
- Travelling salespeople who want a workshop, inventory storage and accommodation all in one.
- Tradespeople who need overnight accommodation on a job.
- Trade businesses that want a transport and leisure trailer in one.
- People who need a place for their mobile office in a wide variety of locations.
The MODO can be used to transport leisure products such as bicycles and motorbikes, sports equipment and camping gear, as well as trade materials. There is even space for a standard pallet in the MODO.
Yes, it’s possible to transport two-wheeled vehicles such as e-bikes, mountain bikes, motorbikes, etc. in the MODO. However, it is important to note the permissible total weight of approximately 1,300 kg.
The MODO is supplied without wheel shock absorbers as standard. In other words, the following regulations apply in principle to trailer combinations in Germany: 50 km/h in urban areas and 80 km/h in non-urban areas.
In some situations, however, the relevant traffic authorities may grant a special permit to travel at speeds of up to 100 km/h. Wheel shock absorbers can be optionally retrofitted for such approval. If you have been granted this permit, you are permitted to drive your car-trailer combination at speeds of up to 100 km/h on motorways and dual carriageways (but not country roads!), instead of up to 80 km/h. You will need a speed limit sticker to certify that you are permitted to drive at speeds of up to 100 km/h; this can be obtained from your vehicle licensing agency.
There are two 10-litre canisters for fresh water and waste water inside the cabinet base in the kitchen module. A power supply socket for electricity is available inside the trailer.
Yes, the MODO is insulated. The body is very robust for a caravan. It consists of a 30 mm thick sandwich structure with moisture-resistant PU foam, insulating properties and painted sheet steel. Aside from a solid hold, this also provides good insulating properties.
As an additional feature, the inner and outer walls are magnetic, making it easy to attach decorative and functional elements.
The airline rails in the MODO are attached to the ceiling, the side walls and the floor. They are necessary to quickly and securely attach the available furniture modules to the MODO. The round recesses on the furniture modules in the dimensions of the airline rails allow simple latching or locking. This also prevents mattress slippage in the MODO, for example.
At the same time, the rails offer maximum flexibility in the arrangement and design of the furniture modules. The position can be altered at any time and adapted to suit your needs.
The airline rails are also compatible with Würth and Häfele systems, allowing you to fully customise the use and self-assembly of the MODO.
No special tools or expertise are required for the configuration. The modules do not need to be lashed, screwed or similar, but are simply and securely attached using the airline rails.
You can secure your load using the existing airline rails. There are suitable fittings for this, with which you can attach a tensioning strap, for example. Locking bars are also available, which are attached between the floor and ceiling and serve to secure the load. These locking bars are also available individually.
The U-shaped seating area can comfortably seat around six people. The MODO can sleep up to four people, depending on the individual configuration.
Yes, you can sleep overnight comfortably in the MODO. The seating group and folding bed included in the starter pack can easily be converted into a bed measuring approximately 1.75 x 2.20 metres. With locking bars and airline rails, the backrests can also be turned into a cot.
You can get the MODO from our Humbaur dealers. You can find a dealer near you via our dealer search.
